Mediation of Family Law Matters
My strong commitment to mediation has developed over many years, having seen the financial, emotional and relationship costs that come with litigation.
My current practice is focused on Family Law Property and Children’s issues.
Very few matters that go to court are finalised by a judicial officer. Mostly agreement is reached along the way.
Mediation usually provides a more cost effective and efficient way than using the court. It is best if people begin mediation early in the separation process to avoid the costs, delays and emotional stress that usually comes with litigation.
Each mediation consists of a separate pre-mediation session for each party followed by one or more joint sessions.
I appreciate the important role that lawyers play in family law matters and I am comfortable in conducting mediations with or without the parties' lawyers present.
I aim to help people reach agreements that can be written up as a Parenting Plan or formalised by way of Consent Orders or a Binding Financial Agreement.
Being a Registered Dispute Resolution Provider I am able to issue Section 60I certificates if required.
